U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), a federal agency under the Department of Commerce, awarded a contract to
Probaris in support of the agency’s efforts to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).
Probaris is installing Probaris ID, the complete end-to-end secure identity solution, to produce smart identity credentials for USPTO personnel. The USPTO will use of the credentials for
physical and logical access control within their enterprise architecture, as well as compliance with HSPD-12. As all federal agencies reach HSPD-12 and FIPS-201 compliance, the USPTO credentials will have the ability to interoperate with other federal agencies’ access systems.

U.S. Social Security Administration
Probaris' ID software is being used as the integration hub for the Social Security Administration’s HSPD-12 Implementation. The initial software installation will allow the SSA to comply with much of the HSPD-12 mandate. Additional components, including card management and biometric systems, will be integrated with Probaris ID to bring the SSA into full HSPD-12 compliance. Probaris ID provides the SSA with a packaged solution for two key components of its HSPD-12 Solution: the IDMS and the Enrollment System. Probaris is also providing training, consulting, and knowledge transfer in support of the SSA initiative. |

U.S. Department of the Interior
Probaris has been working with the Department of Interior (DOI) on multiple identity verification and process automation initiatives since 2004. Most significantly, Probaris has supported the DOI HSPD-12 Implementation team in reengineering its existing business processes to meet the requirements of HSPD-12.
On October 27, 2005, Probaris and several partner companies deployed the first fully functioning PIV-I compliant system at the DOI. The DOI Integrated PIV Solution is the first proven end-to-end solution in the federal government that meets all of the PIV-I compliance objectives and prepares the DOI to effectively meet their October 2006 goal of full compliance with all FIPS 201 requirements.
Probaris’ ID application served as the integrated system’s HSPD-12 Identity Management System and it provided the electronic PIV Enrollment Process.

U.S. Office of Surface Mining
Probaris is using the SP platform to develop the Single Source Coal Reporting (SSCR) System for the Office of Surface Mining (OSM). The system will solve the long standing problem of coal companies having to report the same, or very similar data, multiple times, to multiple government agencies each quarter.
SSCR allows coal companies to meet all of the government’s quarterly filing regulations by submitting one concise package of information that is automatically dispersed to the appropriate federal and state agencies. Using SSCR, coal companies can securely file all mine production information once, rather than bearing the additional burden of interacting with each government agency individually. After collecting each company’s submission, the system creates and securely delivers a custom XML data file to each participating agency that conforms to the standard industry XML schema, ensuring data consistency across the recipient agencies. |

U.S. Bureau of Land Management
Probaris SP was installed at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in 2003 to support the BLM’s eGov and eAuthentication initiatives. Since then, Probaris has worked with BLM business process owners to reengineer dozens of manual, paper based business processes. The reengineered processes have now been automated and secured using the SP platform. In addition, hundreds of BLM’s paper forms have been converted to electronic and available to personnel for secure electronic submission.
One of the key processes reengineered by Probaris was the Well Information System (WIS). WIS allows oil and gas companies to electronically submit well drilling permit applications to BLM securely over the Internet. Using SP’s extensive business processing features, oil and gas operators can track the progress of their permit applications as they move through the BLM approval process. SP’s audit capabilities provide a record of each permit application, enabling the BLM to track its compliance with approval time regulations and offering irrefutable proof of each transaction. The system has contributed to improved BLM oil and gas revenue flow and a more satisfied customer community. |
